Take the valve and push one of the sides back as you move it up the pipe. Make sure that you move it to the spot and that it is secure as you go. Now that you have the first part of the valve on you can leave just an inch on the end and then cut the rest of it off. Once you have made the cut using the cutters from before you can sand with fine sand paper any rough edges that may be a result of the cut. Again, measure and mark like before 1 inch to make sure that you have the correct distance for this valve. Now you can take the other part of the valve and push it firmly until you reach the mark that you made and then secure it. Step 6 - Turn Water Back On and Test. Now that everything is hooked up you can turn the water and power back on to that area and test to make sure that there are no leaks. If you do come across a leak then you can turn the water back off and then refit the valves to make sure that they are on tightly and sealed.
